Work Abroad On-Campus Interviewing and Resume Referral Processes
Work Abroad On-Campus Interviews
The Division of Professional Practice's on-campus Work Abroad interviews are held year-round. It is best to come to campus four to six months before the desired start date of the student. In other words, we recommend that you visit campus in the fall (late August or September) to recruit students for the spring semester. It is also advisable to come to campus in the spring (January or early February) to recruit students for the summer and fall semesters. To gain access to larger number of students, you will want to interview during the fall and spring semesters, using the spring semester to make your selections for the fall and summer work terms and using the fall semester to recruit students for the spring term. Although days during these semesters are in high demand, every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred date. Anticipating your needs early will increase your chances of securing the interview date you prefer. An interview date will be confirmed only after you have submitted your recruiting information on our P2D2 system and our staff has approved it. Each semester, your company will need to update our office on your upcoming needs by submitting the Employer Response Form before your job can be posted in our web-based system.

Resume Referral Process
If your company cannot take advantage of on-campus interviews, we can still advertise your position and have student credentials forwarded to you. Complete a job description on your P2D2 account with your recruiting information.
New Employers/Recruiters
If you have not recruited Georgia Tech co-op/intern students previously or in several semesters, you will need to contact Debbie Gulick to discuss your organization's needs and recruiting options.
Returning Employers
If you have interviewed candidates during the past year, please contact Debbie Gulick to schedule a tentative date for your interview as well as information on scheduling an information session. Interview dates are confirmed only after you have submitted your recruiting information on our P2D2 database and our staff has approved it. You will receive a written confirmation letter via e-mail to officially confirm your on-campus interview date.
Special Considerations
Each year our staff devotes many hours to scheduling and arranging hundreds of campus interviews and resume referrals. Please ensure that your interviewers are scheduled well in advance and that they are committed to the interviewing process at Georgia Tech on their chosen date. Employers who cancel their interview dates at the last minute often gain a negative reputation among students and may find it difficult to attract and hire candidates in subsequent years.
It is important that when resumes are emailed to your company through our resume referral process, communication with students and our office takes place in a timely manner. We recommend that you respond to students within two weeks of receiving resumes. Please advise our office of the candidates that you will be interviewing, job offers, acceptances and the date the position has been filled. Employers who personally communicate by correspondence or phone to prospective candidates leave a more favorable impression than those companies that fail to follow up directly with students.
We ask that you follow up verbal offers to students with a written offer letter and that you provide a copy of the offer letter to the Division of Professional Practice. We recommend that you give students two or three weeks to respond to an offer. Students often wish to complete their scheduled interviews prior to making their final decision.
